Tallow

I may be a little biased, as many of my client closet pieces come from this Ottawa maternity store. But I just love Tallow! Jen Dalgleish created Tallow to reflect Australia’s emerging bohemian fashion scene, where she frequently visited family. With nothing like it available in Ottawa, she introduced this bohemian, feminine style to Canada and beyond! Today, Tallow brings a little extra Australian sunshine to the streets of Ottawa. It reflects the laid-back and coastal vibe of the white-sand beach in Byron Bay it was named after. Tallow carries beautiful luxe-bohemian styles. Some recognizable brands include Spell and the Gypsy Collective, Auguste the Label, Arnhem, Citizens of Humanity, Free People, L*Space swim, and many more. Their collection includes a variety of bright, beachy colors and patterns, soft and flowy textiles, and styles and silhouettes to flatter every body – even pregnant bodies. 

Reclamation

Reclamation is self-described as “a piece of your heart and soul brought to life as the perfect dress.” Designer and owner Trista’s dresses are exquisitely created. When you envision the flowy, dramatic dresses featured in so many maternity photo shoots, these kinds of dresses come to mind. When you contact Trista to make a dress, you are invited to assist in creating and designing your unique, one-of-a-kind piece. You’ll combine aspects of her different designs to build your dream dress. Or, if you just need something stunning for an event or photoshoot, you are welcome to rent a Reclamation dress for whatever you need. While this store isn’t located in Ottawa, it is Canadian and I have several of their gorgeous dresses in my client closet.

Vincent

Vincent is a family-run Ottawa boutique created by two sisters who set out to create a space that “cultivates creativity and simplifies the ever so complicated fashion industry.” Their goal was to carry brands they couldn’t find in their city. They wanted to curate an environment where people come for the clothing and stay for the conversation. Vincent’s clothing is chic, stylish, and versatile, perfect for women looking for versatile pieces you can style with a baby bump or without. Not to mention that they also carry an extensive collection of stylish accessories like shoes, handbags, jewelry, and more!
